Fantasy booking WWE, part 3: The Road to Judgment Day

Coming off the heels of Backlash, we had the WWE Draft, where each show swapped four members for four others. Here are the breakdowns of what happens on the road to Judgment Day:

On Raw: In the WWE Title picture, JBL demands a one-on-one match from Randy Orton, as payback for saving Orton's reign twice (hearkening back to the Y2J match). Cena, also, says he should have a shot because he would have won at Backlash. Not wanting to be left out, HHH also demands another shot. Not feeling any sympathy for The Game, Regal tells him he was seconds from tapping out and doesn't deserve the shot. Instead, he sets up a #1 Contender's match with JBL vs. John Cena with HHH as special referee. During the match, Cena has it won until HHH pedigrees him, giving JBL the shot at Judgment Day and setting up HHH vs. Cena, as well.

Elsewhere on the card, Victoria debuts on Raw trying to make an impression. She wins matches against Maria, Ashley and Mickie James before asking for a Women's Title shot. She loses a title match on the Raw preceding the PPV.

On that same Raw, Chris Jericho is wrestling Elijah Burke. After the match, Jeff Hardy, returning from suspension, runs out and attacks Y2J, asking for a rematch for the Intercontinental Title. That shot is granted for the pay-per-view.

During the weeks leading up to the PPV, a tag team tournament is held. Cryme Tyme wins a shot at the titles against Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes.

CM Punk continues to feud with ECW's Shelton Benjamin. Each wrestler promos against each other on their shows, with Shelton vowing to get the better of Punk at Judgment Day.

Edge doesn't wrestle much on Raw leading up to Judgment Day. He spends some time moping about, sad about his separation from Vickie Guerrero. Kennedy tells him to shut up one day, setting up a match on Raw that ends by count-out when Edge decides he doesn't feel up to fighting.

On ECW: After Backlash, Big Daddy V attacks Kane and jumps into the title hunt. Promos go like this. BDV: "Grrrrr." Kane: "You will burn in hell." BDV (beating on giant man boobs): "Grrrr." Matt Striker wrestles Kane to "soften him up" the week before Judgment Day. Kane makes short work of him, before getting attacked by BDV, who leaves Kane KO'd in the ring at the end of the show.

Shelton, as stated before, has some unfinished business with CM Punk.

Carlito tags up with Kofi Kingston, forming the Caribbean Connection. They wrestle mainly against a Tommy Dreamer/Colin Delaney tag team.

On Smackdown: In the World Heavyweight Title picture: Big Show says he's beaten the biggest superstar on the roster, and now has his sights set on The Undertaker. Promos are pretty straight-forward. Show came back to the WWE to get a title, and it doesn't matter who is in his way. Taker tries to intimidate Big Show by turning the lights off a lot. Show vows not only to take Taker's title, but to chokeslam him straight to hell.

U.S. Title: Matt Hardy's childhood friend, Gregory Helms, returns to Smackdown after the neck injury that kept him out for a long time. Helms wrestles MVP in his return match, and wins with a roll-up. MVP is angry and starts after Helms with a chair, to which Hardy makes the save. On the next week's show, Helms and Hardy team up against MVP and Santino (who thinks MVP is the coolest guy on the roster). There is no U.S. Title match on Judgment Day.

World Tag Team Titles: Miz and Morrison face Jesse & Festus in a number of fashions leading up to the title match at the pay-per-view.

Also feuding are a heel Batista against a face Umaga, based off their WrestleMania match. Mark Henry is feuding with Finlay over who is tougher. Neither match is on the pay-per-view.
