Artist: Hootie and the Blowfish
Album: Scattered, Smothered and Covered
Best songs: Fine Line, I Go Blind, Hey Hey What can I do, Renaissance Eyes, I Hope that I don't fall in Love with You, Driver 8, Please Please Let Me Get What I Want, Use Me
Commentary: Yes, the "best songs" section features almost every song on the album. I've liked Hootie and the Blowfish since the year Cracked Rear View came out, and I own each of their albums since then, except for their live album released two years ago. I've seen the group live twice, and they are one of the best live bands I've seen. This album is actually filled with cover songs, with the highlights being I Go Blind (featured briefly on one episode of Friends), Hey Hey What Can I Do (Originally by Led Zeppelin), Renaissance Eyes and Use Me. (i.e.: Download those four songs). I would put this album beside Cracked Rear View and Fairweather Johnson as my favorite Hootie albums. I re-discovered the CD when I recently hooked up my stereo, and I'm currently waking up every morning to Fine Line: About a truck driver who has a wife and kids, and a "woman down in Charleston who's startin' to show." Hey, I just wake up to it because it's a good song, and it's the first on the album, not because of the subject manner.
Here is a fan video for I Go Blind: (I don't think Hootie did any videos for this album)
